JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute inspection and evaluation of Electric Distribution facilities for deficiencies through ground inspections. The Inspector may be responsible to provide direction, training, supervision, and guidance of other design staff of equal or lower experience as directed by supervision.
OVERVIEW OF DUTIES
With minimal supervision, perform a variety of design-related duties, including, but not limited to, the following:

Examine and record any abnormal conditions that are visible from the ground.

Accurately record conditions that could potentially pose safety and/or compliance issues.

Review abnormal conditions for high-priority tags.
-
Capture imagery of field issues and recognize if there is a regulatory or compelling condition that needs to be addressed within the compliance program timeframe.

Provide training and technical support for peers.

Review quality findings to improve individual output and processes.
-
Share lessons-learned and quality findings in a group setting to foster team success.

Achieve weekly production goals as defined by the project guidelines.
-
Perform other duties as assigned.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
-
Requires travel throughout eastern Michigan
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
4 Years or more experience in Electric Utility Distribution or Transmission in some combination of the following :
-
Electrical lineman
-
Electrical Designer
-
Electrical asset inspector
-
Must have a valid driver’s license + clean driving record.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
-
Must be able to complete a satisfactory background check.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
Journeyman Lineman certificate with Michigan utility experience
-
Degree in a technical or design field related to Electrical Engineering
-
Knowledge of the practices and procedures pertaining to overhead distribution, electric utility inspection
-
Familiarity with Michigan utilities’ overhead electric distribution and transmission construction standards
-
Proficient use and knowledge of computers and software applications.
This position is a traveling position with some initial in-person on-the-job training.
