Senior Project Manager, Electric Transmission
              Hybrid: Remote / Puerto Rico Travel

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Project Manager position requires a strong background in electric transmission utility construction project management including work planning, resource management, and contract management. The position will focus on reviewing electric power construction work to ensure contractors are meeting project standards, maintaining project schedule, and staying within project budget.

OVERVIEW OF DUTIES

The successful Project Manager will:

  • Plan all phases of electric distribution, substation and/or transmission project lifecycles from initiation to completion.

  • Ensure contractor compliance with project plans and specifications as well as permit conditions and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Work with project team to develop and execute value engineering ideas during the design phase

  • Develop bid documents for work scope with project team members and negotiate construction contracts

  • Develop and monitor contractor adherence to project budget, schedule, and quality control plan

  • Collaborate with engineers, materials sourcing, contract management, land and environmental management, construction contractors, and other subject matter experts.

  • Report to senior management teams on project progress, potential risks and help needed

  • Ensure as-built drawings and field documentation items are submitted by contractors

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • 50% travel to work in Puerto Rico is required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

  • 8+ Years of relevant experience required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other relevant major

  • Experienced with managing power line construction work preferred

  • Possess strong communication skills

  • Willingness to travel

  • Ability to build strong relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors.

  • Excels at organization, time-management, problem-solving, and budgeting.

  • Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, including hiking with safety gear in rough terrain and hot weather conditions

  • PMP or PE preferred

  • Must be a US citizen and have a valid driver’s license
